Since the townspeople of Waitsburg undertook the restoration of the Bruce Mansion, it has always been funded through donations, memorials, memberships, investments, grants, and endowments.  We are fortunate that our visitors and members recognize the importance of this asset to the region's history.

In 2011, we took title to the Wilson-Phillips house next door to the Bruce house, and for the first time we were faced with electricity and water bills, plus numerous new projects needed in order to create display space for our artifacts.  We have been able to keep pace with the help from some private grants, but we increasingly rely on donations in order to maintain the property.
